viscri

The fortified church in Viscri is one of the oldest ones in Transylvania. It dates back to the 12th century and was designated in 1993 as a world heritage site by UNESCO.
Entering the village is like going back in time. The access road and all the roads in the village are gravel, so there's no asphalt to be found.
In 2006 the prince of Wales bought a 18th century Saxon house here. He has restored it keeping true to the original design and he is also involved in the restoration of other houses in the village so as to keep the original look of the village.
It is a nice place to visit and I recommend  anyone in the area to go and have a look.
